Shady Lane Dog Seizure

Dear Editor,

As the Shady Lane dog seizure operation works itself through the legal system, I want to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to those who are helping these little critters. For those who are continuing to provide care at MetraPark and at local veterinarian hospitals, thank you. I know many of you have called to offer assistance. We will need your assistance as the dogs become acclimated to humans and are healthy enough to be walked, cared for, and frankly loved by those in the public seeking to volunteer their time. Your continuing support is helping to make a difference in their lives.

Dear Editor,

The trend for the past two decades has government looking at real estate as their private gold mine to implement higher fees, taxes and tougher regulatory requirements.

Dear Editor,

On September 24, I attended the debate between Brad Molnar and Ron Tussing who are running for the seat on the Public Service Commission. I went expecting a very dry and boring debate, however it turned out to be quite interesting. Mr. Molnar demonstrated confidence and competence. He was very knowledgeable about energy issues in Montana today. He also appears to take his job very seriously and knows what his job description is and knows what duties he is expected to perform. He realizes that there is a fine balance between keeping rates low for consumers while also encouraging businesses to provide a sound service. Mr. Tussing, on the other hand, is clearly out of his league. While it was obvious that Tussing picked up a couple of vocabulary words such as decatherm and kilowatt; his answers demonstrated his lack of foresight and general knowledge of crucial issues. Mr. Tussing’s skills as a member of a SWAT team have no relevance for this position. Mr. Molnar is already seasoned and dependable. The debate showed a great disparity between the qualifications of the candidates, with Molnar prevailing on all accounts.
