The Billings West Rotary has awarded a grant of $2,000 to Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch's – Community Based Services (YBGR-CBS) for the purchase of mental health resource materials.   YBGR-CBS currently has 23 school-based teams and will be expanding to 27 teams this fall. Each team consists of one therapist and one behavior specialist working in 11 area school districts. Currently over 230 underachieving children are working with YBGR staff in School Based Services.

The funds from this grant will be used to purchase curriculum kits designed for at-risk students call "Why Try". The kits are in use at some of the YBGR-CBS school locations, and are valuable tools for staff to use in helping each child achieve academic success. The grant funds provided by the Billings West Rotary will purchase additional kits for use in area schools.
