The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Montana Women's Business Center (WBC) and Prospera Business Network, in conjunction with Ravalli County Economic Development Authority, will present 2012 Montana Women in Business Conference, June 14, at the Bitterroot River Inn Conference Center, in Hamilton.  The Conference will welcome nearly 200 women in business from around the state of Montana. Featured keynote speaker will be Sarah Calhoun, the owner of Red Ants Pants, who has been recognized as one of Montana's most accomplished woman entrepreneurs and has been honored as both the U.S. SBA 2012 National Women in Business Champion and the Montana SBA 2012 Women in Business Champion. Registration is $65, and includes conference materials and networking reception. Heart &?Sole
Organizers of the 33rd annual Heart & Sole Run are expecting another record turnout for the June 16, 2012 race – a destination-style event which draws families and serious competitors from around the region and the west. After the race, participants and fans will enjoy the new Montana Active Life Festival, a free, healthy-living festival at Dehler Park, 8 a.m. until noon. The conference will feature over a dozen workshops dealing with issues of importance to notaries public and their employers. The event will be held at the Crowne Plaza Billings Hotel in Billings.

Legal Reform Conference
On March 22, the Montana Chamber will host a Legal Reform Conference in Billings at the Hilton Garden Inn from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  This conference has been approved for 4.5 CLE credits by the Montana State Bar. Topics for the conference include: the top business cases in Montana in 2011; medical malpractice reform; joint & several liability; exclusive remedy challenges in work comp; legal issues in natural resource development; general tort reform proposals. BE GREAT Ball/Benefit
The 18th Annual BE GREAT Ball, a benefit for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Yellowstone County, will be held on March 30, at the Crowne Plaza Billings.  A social hour and silent auction begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Gordon L. Eldredge dinner and live auction. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Yellowstone County have been serving young people since 1971. Each day, more than 600 kids attend their four clubhouses.  Membership to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Yellowstone County costs only $10 per school year.   Event organizers are Jim Gainan and Karrie Owen. Montana State University Extension and Montana Small Business Administration (SBA) will sponsor the webinar "Small Business Financing: Financing Your Business in a Booming Economy" on February 22 from noon to 1 p.m. Information on financing a start-up or expansion of a business during an oil boom will be included. The webinar will feature Gregg Gluekert, a commercial lender at a community bank in Billings, and the owner of several businesses in Eastern Montana and Western North Dakota. In addition, George Haynes, Extension Economist at MSU, will present an overview of small business lending concerns during the recent recession; and John Klaman, Senior Area Manager for the SBA in Billings, will discuss lending products available from the SBA. Lorene Hintz, a Small Business Development Center Director will provide information on opportunities for training funds and resources available to assist small businesses.
