The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is seeking comments on a proposal to resurface about 0.4 miles of 6th Avenue North in Billings. The project begins at the junction of 6th Avenue North and North 27th Street and extends southwest 5 blocks to North 32nd Street.
Proposed work includes digouts as necessary, replacing existing storm drain inlet grates and adding concrete aprons, milling the existing surface, applying a new overlay, new pavement markings, and Americans with Disabilities Act enhancements. The purpose of this project is to extend the life of the existing asphalt surfacing and provide a safe roadway for the traveling public.
The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in the fall of 2017, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding. No new right-of-way or utility relocations are anticipated.
