Union Negotiations Coming

A recent letter to vendors and contractors of ExxonMobil is a reminder that the company will be entering into negotiations with US Steel Workers Union sometime in December to forge a new contract. The current contract expires on Jan. 31, 2009.

Local Man Wants to Turn Coal into Oil

“Enough is enough,” says Jerry Prouse, Shepherd, “I’m going to find me some $2 gas.”

That’s what the headline of his brochure says – a homemade brochure in which he makes the assertion that there are easy solutions to addressing the nation’s need for oil. There are solutions which are economical and which can be environmentally friendly, given a little bit of ingenuity. To prove his point, Prouse recently, conjured up in his back yard, some crude oil made from coal, and he goes around these days with a little vial of it, readily, showing it to anyone who wants to listen to his idea.
